You can not help but notice how special the Vineyard is. Growing up here I have always found every part of the island very scenic. For such a small place there is great variations. Add to that the ever changing seasons and dailey weather conditions, and you can go to the same location every day and come away with a different photo. I started with small 35mm film cameras, slowly learning as I went. The more photos I took the more involved I have become. Now with the digital age and all the terrific equipment available there is not one single day I do not find myself outside, enjoying the light and scenes so familar to all of us here on Martha's Vineyard.

Much of the credit has to go to my dog. I started taking him to different locations all over the island. Not for photographic purposes, but for his enjoyment and mine. I soon learned to bring along my cameras, and with him leading the way, we found ourselves in all the best places from one end of the island to the other. |

Not only do the scenes and subjects interest me, but so does the light. Everyday, everyhour, it changes. I find it a great challenge to "see the light", and get great satisfaction to capture this in a photo. I hope to share some my work to a wider audience. - Tim Johnson -
